Ancient Indonesian Science of Yoga for Modern Times
(This is the ancient Hindu text found in the archipelago, originally in Sanskrit. This have been translated by Guruji in English and Indonesian.)
Known as Shin-tu to the ancient Chinese Travelers; Hindu to the ancient Persians and Arabs; Indus and Indies to the Westerners, the Sindhu Valley Civilization is perhaps the only ancient civilization that has not only survived, but also evolved, progressed and thrived with the passage of time. The Civilization has given birth to several philosophies, religions, and belief systems. The scriptures in your hands written by unknown ancient sages of what is now known as the Indonesian Archipelago, are the gifts from this very same civilization, stretching from the present day Afghanistan to parts of the Philippines.
These scriptures invite you, invite us all to celebrate Oneness, the One Reality, underlying all the superfluous differences on the surface. They take us beyond the popular notion, the popular idea of “tolerance” to the greater value of “appreciation”.
Another thing, which must be said in this context is that these scriptures are not meant for “ascetics”, or for a certain section of society alone. The noble values and injunctions in these treatises are universal by nature and meant for all spiritual aspirants, for all practitioners of Yoga – whether they are ascetics or laity. Indeed, for all of us who would like to find peace, and discover the source of true happiness within.
